What Does a Coyote Kids Summer Session Look Like?

Parents often ask what our Summer Baseball Development Sessions actually look like once players arrive at Training Ground Gym.
The answer is simple: we’re focused on giving young players consistent instruction, quality repetitions, and an environment where they can improve while having fun.
Unlike a free-play camp where players spend large portions of the day waiting in lines or simply playing games, our sessions are built around skill development and movement. Every activity has a purpose, and every player stays active throughout the afternoon.
Hour 1: Throwing & Defensive Development
We start each session by building the foundation of the game.
Players work through throwing progressions, arm-care routines, fielding fundamentals, glove work, footwork drills, and defensive movements. Depending on the day’s focus, players may work on:
Proper throwing mechanics
Ground ball fundamentals
Receiving and glove presentation
Footwork and body control
Athletic movement patterns
Baseball IQ and defensive decision-making
The goal is to help players become more confident and efficient defenders while developing healthy throwing habits.
Hour 2: Hitting Stations & Swing Development
The second hour is dedicated entirely to hitting.
Players rotate through multiple stations designed to improve timing, bat control, contact quality, balance, and power production. Stations may include:
Tee Popper drills
Traditional tee work
Portable swing trainer progressions
Soft toss drills
Ball-tracking exercises
Bat speed and swing path development
Contact-point training
Because players rotate through several stations, they stay engaged while accumulating far more quality swings than they would during a typical practice.
Hour 3: Athletic Development & Competition
The final hour combines athletic development with fun competition. Players work through baseball-specific conditioning, movement drills, strength-building activities, and coordination exercises designed to help them become more complete athletes.
Activities may include:
Medicine ball work
Throwing power drills
Agility and movement stations
Relay races
Obstacle courses
Accuracy challenges
Team competitions
We finish every session with a fun challenge that gives players a chance to compete, celebrate improvement, and leave with a smile.
Built for Young Ballplayers
Our goal is simple: provide an environment where players can develop skills, gain confidence, make friends, and build a stronger foundation for future success on the field.
Whether your player is preparing for fall baseball, looking for extra reps during the summer, or simply loves the game, Coyote Kids Summer Sessions are designed to help them improve one rep at a time.
